| The Idea: Mainstream Styles With MC Rider Features | |

Rider™ emerged out of my own desire for a riding
jacket that I could put on for ’everyday riding’.
On beautiful days I wanted to take the motorcycle to meet with friends,
go to restaurants and even go to work – basically to
use the MC for transportation. For these occasions, I wanted something more “mainstream” looking. But,
the mainstream jackets weren’t made for riding – the
sleeves were too short, there wasn't any armor/protection, the
zipper scratched my gas tank and the collars flapped in the wind
among other problems. So I endeavored to design a line of mainstream-looking
jackets with features that are important for riders.
Designers Created The Fashion, We Created the Function. I hired a couple of terrific designers who had done work for Liz Claiborne and Calvin Klein and had them ‘modify’ some classic styles by adding the host of features that we riders need (see ‘Features’ page). But, I wanted the jackets to look upscale and nice enough to wear just about anywhere. I also wanted them to be lightweight since most riding is around-town, or for day-trips during the warmer months. |
Classy Rider – A Versatile Addition to Your MC Wardrobe. For the past 5 years, we've continued to improve on the basic concept of developing a comfortable motorcycle jacket with casual, everyday styling, and protection in case of the unexpected 'get-off'.. Classy Rider offers you a great alternative to leathers for the warm riding months when the leather is too hot and heavy. This past year, I moved up to what I call my 'big girl' bike - a wonderful 1500cc touring cruiser and I ride the bike at every opportunity. I especially enjoy pushing the grocery cart up to the bike, with people looking to see how I'm going to get it all on the bike! No problem! Then I take the long way home along winding back roads. |
